Contestants choose a category, then try to spot the true story hidden among two convincing fakes.

• Obscure or Imposture? — three strange words, one real
• Language Lore — three linguistic "facts," one true
• Acronym or Simulacrum? — funny acronyms, one legit

AZUSA (AZ in the USA)

Three categories on the board. Pick one, and the host gives you two letters — the first and last of a hidden word. Each category draws from a deep well of letter pairs, so the round is never the same twice.

Idiom or Idiot?

The host starts a well-known idiom, the contestant finishes it. Ninety seconds on the clock, and the idioms only get more obscure as they go.

Wildcard

Contestants pick their poison — three fast, ninety-second formats where anything can happen.

• Thingamabobber — name the real word for an everyday object (the plastic tip of a shoelace is an aglet)
• Super Scrambler — build a real word from a growing set of letters, climbing all the way to eight
• Hysteric Lyric — sing any lyric containing the word the host gives you
